Professional Activities

Dr. Krisjon Olson is assistant professor in the Division of Cardiology and BIRCWH Scholar at University of Wisconsin–Madison. She serves as the director of the Experimental Ethnography laboratory, an incubator for research on decision making, child-centered care, and congenital heart disease in Wisconsin.

Research Interests

Olson’s research aims to address the gender health gap and improve outcomes in congenital heart disease. She conducts ongoing fieldwork with children and families facing difficult treatment decisions in pediatric intensive care and beyond. Olson works with survivors, community organizations, and health care providers to address outcome inequalities. She aims to promote longevity of survivors and facilitate their transition to adulthood.
