Professional Activities
Dr. Deanna Jewell is assistant professor (CHS) in the Division of Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitative Medicine. Her professional interests encompass medical education, quality improvement, and leadership in health care. Jewell is on the Board of Directors for the Association of Children’s Prosthetic and Orthotic Clinics, one the only international professional organizations for pediatric amputee care.
Clinical Interests
Jewell’s clinical focus is on limb loss or limb difference and neuromuscular disorders. She is also actively involved in the management of children with cerebral palsy, spasticity, spina bifida, spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury. She practices in the Limb Differences Clinic, Neuromuscular Clinic, and Spina Bifida Clinic.
Research Interests
Jewell’s research interests focus on quality improvement, limb differences, and pediatric neuromuscular disorders.
