Professional Activities
Dr. Laura Houser is a clinical professor in the Divisions of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and Global Pediatrics. Her advocacy work focuses on advocacy education, anti-racism, and dyslexia support. She targets her education efforts to residents, fellows, and clinical faculty. She is a member of the department’s IDEAA (inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility, and anti-racism) Committee and the Health Equity Rounds Planning Committee. Additionally, Houser is an active participant Docs For Dyslexia, where she advocates for better educational support for children with dyslexia and teaches medical providers about resources for patients with concerns for dyslexia.
Clinical Interests
Houser is a pediatrician who cares for children from birth to college, including patients with medical complexity. She has special interests in breastfeeding, international adoption, and mental health.
