Professional Activities

Dr. Elizabeth Goetz is a professor (CHS) in the Division of Neonatology and Newborn Nursery. As medical director of the largest newborn nursery in the state of Wisconsin, Goetz is committed to providing excellent clinical care to all parents and newborns, providing outstanding education to medical students, residents, and fellows, and advancing the field of newborn medicine.

Clinical Interests

Goetz’s clinical interests include infant feeding and nutrition, family-centered care of common newborn medical complications, care of infants with substance exposures, and improving health equity.

Research Interests

Goetz’s current research interests are improving identification of newborns with congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV), preventing neonatal hypoglycemia, developing newborn simulations for delivery room management and circumcision, and improving outcomes for substance-exposed newborns.
