Professional Activities

Dr. Christina Barreda is assistant professor (CHS) and interim division chief in the Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine and co-director of the Pediatric UW Cystic Fibrosis Center. She is a member of the Department of Pediatrics Advocacy Advisory Committee and Community Sub-Committee. In addition, Barreda participates in the American Thoracic Society (ATS) Pediatric Web Committee and is co-chair of the Medical Education Sub-Committee. 

Clinical Interests

Barreda is a pediatric pulmonologist with a special interest in caring for children with asthma, cystic fibrosis, and pulmonary lymphatic disorders. She is the associate director for the UW Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Program and is active member of the UW Cystic Fibrosis Quality Improvement Team. 

Research Interests

Barreda’s research seeks to understand how pediatric pulmonary patients obtain health information and with that information, to develop evidence-based learning resources to empower patients, caregivers, and health care workers to make well-informed medical decisions around the care of children with respiratory conditions. She participates in clinical research on cystic fibrosis and leads multiple pediatric pulmonology quality improvement projects.
