What is your field of research or area of clinical care, and how did you get into it? I work in the urgent care clinics at UW Health. I enjoy being able to treat a variety of illnesses, provide support to families, and perform simple procedures to help children heal.

How would you describe your work to a 5-year-old? I am a doctor who has trained specifically to help kids feel better. I talk to you and your parents to figure out what is going on and how to take care of you.

What attracted you to UW–Madison? I was excited to join an academic group to work with colleagues that are so welcoming and friendly, as well as to remain involved in trainee education.

What is your favorite thing to do in Madison? Exploring all of the parks and trails!

What’s one thing you hope trainees will learn from you and your work? How to work through your clinical decision-making process and communicate with families in a compassionate manner.

Do you feel your work relates to the Wisconsin Idea? If so, please describe how. Absolutely! One of my primary goals is to educate, support, and empower parents in taking care of their children.

What are some of your hobbies and other interests? I enjoy intramural sports, outdoor activities, and spending time with my wife and our dog. I’m a big Cleveland sports fan (unfortunately). I hope to get more into hobbies like tennis and photography.
