Elizabeth Cox, MD PhD, Director of the Program of Research on Outcomes for Kids (PROKids) and Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, has been selected to join the American Diabetes Association’s Research Grant Review Committee, the scientific peer review panel for the Association’s Core Research Program. She will serve a three-year term beginning July 1, 2019 and extending through June 30, 2022.
The Association’s Research Program supports its mission to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes by 1) supporting the highest quality science across the broad spectrum of diabetes research, 2) encouraging new investigators to dedicate their careers to diabetes research, and 3) supporting innovative research with high potential to have a significant impact. Since inception of the program in 1952 through 2018, ADA has supported more than 4,700 research projects and invested nearly $834.4 million in diabetes research.
