Congratulations to Judith Smith, MD, PhD who recently received an award of $10,000 from the Spondylitis Association of America (SAA) in honor of its founder, Jane Bruckel. This award is granted to the young investigator who presented the best abstract at the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) meeting in 2010. Dr. Smith will be recognized at the ACR 2011 meeting for her lab’s work on macrophages in AS and their synthesis of IL-23 related cytokines.
