Christine Sorenson, PhD, was recently awarded $143,000 over 2 years for her project, “Thrombospondin1 and Diabetic Nephropathy” through the American Heart Association Midwest Grant-in-Aid program. The goal of this project is to understand the role of Thomrobospondin1 in renal vascular homeostasis and its contribution to complications of diabetes, which will lead to the development of advanced treatments.
