Professional Activities
Dr. Margret Bock is visiting professor (CHS) and chief in the Division of Nephrology. She served as medical director of pediatric transplantation from 2018-2026 at her prior institution, leading programmatic growth and excellence. She has served in multiple institutional review board leadership roles, most recently as co-chair of the pediatric panel at the Colorado Multiple Institutional Review Board, assisting with oversight of the ethical conduct of clinical research. A dedicated educator and mentor, Bock has guided medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty throughout their clinical and research career development, helping them find their professional footing. She serves as a patient and physician advocate through her work with the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology and American Society of Transplantation.
Clinical Interests
Bock is a pediatric nephrologist with clinical interests and expertise in caring for children with pediatric kidney diseases, with a focus on pediatric recipients of kidney transplants and management of children with congenital anomalies of the kidneys and urinary tract.
Research Interests
Bock’s research is focused on outcomes in children awaiting or after receiving solid organ transplants. The central theme of her research is the development, implementation, and evaluation of structured transition programs for adolescents and young adults from pediatric to adult transplant care models. Her work seeks to identify modifiable risk factors during the time of transition and to design interventions that promote continuity of care, self-management skills, and long-term graft and patient survival.
