Emily Schierer, DO

Dr. Emily Schierer grew up in Freeport, Illinois. For her undergraduate degree, she majored in integrative biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She chose pediatrics as her specialty because as a child she had a fantastic pediatrician who influenced her and her family greatly, inspiring her initial interest in medicine and pediatrics. In medical school, she continued to pursue her passion for pediatrics and was amazed by children’s resilience as patients. She hasn’t looked back, developing an interest in pediatric endocrinology and PICU. Outside of the hospital, Schierer enjoys running, reading, trying new restaurants with friends, and spending time outdoors.
