The University of Wisconsin Department of Pediatrics hosted the 5th annual Wisconsin Neonatology Day on April 4.
This full-day event brought together neonatal experts and trainees from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin. Ravi Patel, MD, MSc, professor, Emory University School of Medicine, gave the keynote lecture titled “Causation or Confusion: Anemia, Transfusion and Necrotizing Enterocolitis.” The day also featured a series of presentations from faculty and trainees, along with a poster session showcasing ongoing research in neonatology.
“Wisconsin Neonatology Day was a great success, uniting medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty, fostering a collaborative spirit, and featuring outstanding educational and research presentations,” said Ryan McAdams, MD, professor, Divisions of Neonatology and Newborn Nursery and Global Pediatrics.
McAdams and Jeffrey Segar, MD, professor and associate chair, Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Wisconsin, created Wisconsin Neonatology Day in 2020 as an opportunity for Wisconsin neonatologists to share scholarly work focused on the care of infants.
The 2026 event will take place in Milwaukee.
