Professional Activities
Dr. Andrew Lewandowski is assistant professor (CHS) in the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine with professional expertise in climate change and health communication. He has been giving talks and providing counseling about climate change in clinical settings since 2019, and he has published the positive outcomes of this counseling. He also educates the public, policymakers, and health care professionals on the health impacts of climate change. Lewandowski served as a content specialist to the Wisconsin Governor’s Task Force on Climate Change and has experience with policy advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels. In 2019, he helped to found a non-profit organization, Healthy Climate Wisconsin, that is now one of the leading climate and health 501(c)(3) organizations in the country. Through the American Academy of Pediatrics, Lewandowski co-led a team that created the first American Board of Pediatrics MOC part IV activity that addresses climate and health counseling.

Lewandowski’s clinical interests lie at the intersection of pediatrics, climate change and health, and wilderness medicine.
