The Department of Pediatrics recently became an institutional member of the North American Immuno-Hematology Clinical Education & Research Consortium (NICER). Its mission is to provide a collaborative multidisciplinary environment to advance the education, clinical care, and research involving pediatric and adult patients with known or suspected genetically driven disorders of blood and immunity. Our institutional PI is Jo Wilson, MD, (pictured), assistant professor, Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology, who diagnoses and treats children with a wide array of food and drug allergies and immunologic disorders such as asthma and atopic dermatitis. Our co-PI is Christine Seroogy, MD, professor, Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology, whose research is aimed at characterizing early life immune development using unique birth cohorts and multi-omic technologies.
