Group on Women in Medicine and Science honors Jill Denson with Impact Award

The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health Group on Women in Medicine and Science (GWIMS) awarded Jill Denson, PhD, MSW, assistant professor in the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and director of the UW–Madison Prevention Research Center, with an Impact Award. Denson was honored for her lifelong commitment to pursuing community-engaged research that addresses maternal and child health disparities affecting Wisconsin communities, most prominently within African American populations. Her research endeavors are substantial, and her commitment to advocacy is evident in her involvement in numerous committees and groups that are working toward understanding reducing health disparities in the most vulnerable and marginalized populations in Wisconsin.
