Division Highlights - General Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine

The Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine provides outstanding inpatient and outpatient care for children—24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Our research focuses on family-centered care, quality improvement, and systems redesign.

2009 Highlights

  • Steven Koslov, MD, was named the division’s Clinical Director.
  • Adeline Kaam, MD, Julie Gocey, MD, Dipesh Navsaria, MPH, MSLIS, MD, and Prassana Raman, MD, joined the division.
  • Elizabeth Cox, MD, PhD, received five grants on family-centered care and patient safety, including awards from the NIH, the Arthur Vining Davis Foundation, and the National Patient Safety Foundation.
  • Bruce Edmondson, MD, MPH, received an NIH grant to develop pediatric quality measurements.
  • John Frohna, MD, was awarded the ACGME’s Parker J. Palmer Courage to Teach Award.
  • Patricia Kokotailo, MD, MPH, received a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant for faculty development in primary care.
  • Kristin Millin, MD, presented a workshop on getting into residency at the American Academy of Pediatrics’ national conference.
  • Megan Moreno, MD, MSEd, MPH, received two NIH grants: one for $312,600 over two years and one for $74,250 over two years.
  • Amy Plumb, MD, received an UW Health Ambulatory Care Innovation Grant for improving pain with immunizations.
  • Jeffery Sleeth, MD, received a UW Health Ambulatory Care Innovation Grant for developmental screening in the office.
  • Five division faculty presented at the 2010 Pediatric Academic Societies meetings.
  • Gail Allen, MD, and Amy Plumb, MD, participated in pilot teams for UW Health’s Primary Care Microsystems Redesign program.
  • Eight division faculty participated in UW Health’s Ambulatory 401 Leadership and Quality Improvement program.
