What is your favorite part of your job? My favorite part of the job is getting to work alongside so many wonderful people across the institution, all collaborating toward a shared goal of helping children get better.

What advice would you give your resident self? I would tell my resident self to slow down and enjoy the journey. You do not have to have everything figured out right away. Each challenge you face shapes you into the physician you will become. Trust the process and remember that growth happens quietly in the background.

Are there any courses, professors, or opportunities from your time at the UW that had a lasting influence? Absolutely. The ethics elective I took with Dr. Norman Fost had a tremendous influence on me. It was my first real exposure to thinking critically about the ethical dimensions of clinical care. That experience really strengthened my interest in bioethics and confirmed that this was something that I wanted to build into my career.

What’s your best memory of your time in Madison? I really cannot pick one, but my best memories from my time in Madison all come back to the people in my residency class. We went through a lot together — long nights in the hospital, cheering at Badger football games, weekend gatherings, and enjoying everything Madison has to offer outdoors. Those experiences made the hard work fun and unforgettable.
