Division reintroduces emergency coverage by emergency department-trained pediatricians

Overview

The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine believes that the emergency medical and surgical needs of children throughout the region are best met through collaborative family- and patient-centered models of care.

The division is developing clinical guidelines and educating emergency department providers at all levels on evidence-based practice of pediatric emergency medicine. Our goal is 24/7 coverage in an independent pediatric emergency department.

We are also launching a multifaceted research program focusing on topics such as injury prevention, EMS education, acute pain management, and patient simulation.
