I never thought I would end up in Wisconsin. But when I came for my interview, I fell in love with the program. The facilities are top notch, which makes UW a great place for residents to work and patients to come for care. The program size is also perfect - large enough to get the exposure for residents to become well-rounded pediatricians, but small enough to know faculty and staff on a first-name basis. Although these are reasons I was drawn to this program, the reason I ultimately picked UW was because of the people. On my interview day, I felt welcomed and at home. We are surrounded by people who push us to learn and become the best physicians possible, while having all the support we need to provide sound clinical care. Aside from the program, Madison is a great place to live and work. I personally love the outdoor activities, including hiking and riding on the bike paths. Madison also has one of the largest farmer’s markets in the country, where I like to get cheese curds, locally grown veggies, and fresh baked goods. I am so happy I chose to get my residency training here!
