Travis Schmit, PhD, Awarded Post-doctoral Fellowship from FRAXA Research Foundation

Travis Schmit, PhD, in the lab of Michael Wilhelm, MD, was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship of $45,000 from the FRAXA Research Foundation for his project, “The Role of JNK in FMRP regulated translation in Fragile X Syndrome.” The goal of the proposed research is to investigate the role of kinases in the regulation of local, dendritic protein turnover in Fragile X Syndrome, specifically amyloid precursor protein turnover upon metabotropic glutamate receptor stimulation.
