Kenneth DeSantes, MD, was recently awarded $80,000 from Solving Kids Cancer for his project, “Reduced Intensity Haploidentical Transplantation with NK Cell Infusion for Pediatric Acute Leukemia and High Risk Solid Tumors.” This one-year project is a pilot study to test the safety and anti-tumor efficacy of a reduced intensity haploidentical (parental donors) stem cell transplant regimen with natural killer (NK) cell infusions to treat children with high-risk and recurrent tumors.
