De-Ann Pillers, MD, PhD, was recently awarded $300,000 from the Hartwell Foundation for her 3-year project, “Genetics of the Innate Immune Response of the Infant as a Potential Biomarker for Premature Birth.” The goal of this study is to identify fetal genetic risk factors in the innate immune system that would aid in predicting and changing pregnancy outcomes related to pre-term labor.
