DESCRIPTION:Date: Tuesday\, May 20\, 2025 \nTime: 12:15-1 p.m. CST via Zoom \nZoom Link (THIS SESSION WAS POSTPONED) \nTitle: Pediatric Anxiety and Depression in Primary Care:  Assessing Symptoms\, Navigating Treatment\, and Communicating with Families to Optimize Outcomes \nSession Overview: \nPediatric anxiety and depressive disorders are highly prevalent in primary care\, and management of these conditions can present unique challenges related to assessment of symptoms\, choice of treatment\, and course of care. Communicating information to youth and parents about anxiety/depression\, and treatment rationale\, can be equally as challenging. This presentation will review core diagnostic considerations when assessing pediatric anxiety/depression symptoms\, and the common association with stress.  Treatment approaches of psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy will be reviewed\, with emphasis on when to treat and what interventions to consider\, and monitoring trajectory of care.
