The Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine provides outstanding outpatient care for children—24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Our research focuses on family-centered care, quality improvement, and systems redesign.

2011 Highlights

  • David Bernhardt, MD, received the American Academy of Pediatrics' Special Achievement Award for his work as a champion of adolescent health and sports medicine, and his ongoing education in pediatrics. Dr. Bernhardt also received the Pediatrics Primary Care Teaching Award.
  • Fellow Matt Karwowski, MD, won an Academic Pediatric Association award for Best Abstract by a Fellow for “Trends in Blood Lead Levels among Wisconsin Children: Development of a Lead Poisoning Nomogram.”
  • Dipesh Navsaria, MPH, MSLIS, MD, received the Young Physician Leadership Award from the Wisconsin Medical Society, and the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. Dr. Navsaria was also awarded $30,000 from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Community Pediatrics Training Initiative (CPTI) program for his project, "Madison Advocacy Development through Curriculum and Practice (MADCAP).”
