Division Highlights - Cardiology

The Division of Pediatric Cardiology improves children’s cardiovascular health through a team approach that includes clinicians, patients, and families.

Clinical specialties include cardiac imaging, exercise physiology, interventional catheterization, and adult congenital heart disease.

Research investigates the developing heart’s response to the stress of congenital heart disease.

2009 Highlights

  • Carter Ralphe, MD, was named president-elect of the Midwest Society for Pediatric Research. He also was awarded a research grant from the Children’s Cardiomyopathy Foundation to study children’s heart disease.
  • Kathleen Maginot, MD, was named codirector of the American Family Children’s Hospital’s inherited arrhythmias program.
  • Shardha Srinivasan, MD, was named director of fetal cardiology at American Family Children’s Hospital.
