What attracted you to UW for fellowship? The strong academic foundation, supportive and approachable faculty, and the clear commitment to fellow education made UW the obvious choice! Everyone I met during the interview process seemed genuinely invested in both clinical excellence and mentorship.
What makes UW unique? UW is unique because of its collaborative culture and commitment to academic excellence.I especially appreciated how supportive the division was of academic endeavors — no one ever said “no” to an ambitious idea.
Favorite things to do in Madison? I loved biking along the lakes and Dane County farmer’s market on Saturdays, especially sampling various cheese curds.

What attracted you to UW for fellowship? I loved the idea of being in a newer fellowship where I felt I could really leave my mark on the program. I also had so many amazing discussions during my interview that helped me not only get to know the program, but also work on what I wanted to get out of fellowship. Everyone was enthusiastic about education and helping me grow as a physician. Finally, as someone interested in sedation, I loved learning more about the sedation program at UW.
What makes UW unique? I think there is so much that makes UW unique. From a PHM perspective, having such a well established and scholarly active sedation program that allows the hospitalists to participate is exceedingly rare. Further, the amount of resources and support that I received not only from the division, but also the university as a whole to advance my research projects went above and beyond my expectations. Finally, the city itself is so vibrant and beautiful that I never ran out of things to do or places to see. My family and I loved living in Madison.
Favorite things to do in Madison? I loved going to the various farmers markets, but of course the Dane County Farmers market takes the cake. I also loved going to the children’s museum as well as the numerous parks with my kids. Also the student union in the summer was one of my favorite places to spend time.
