Our goal is that you will find your six weeks on pediatrics to be not only a worthwhile learning experience but an enjoyable one as well.

The goals of the Department of Pediatrics for the education of third-year students include helping the students to acquire knowledge about the process of growth and development and about common diseases and conditions of childhood. Goals also include enabling students to work with children and families together to develop an understanding of the importance of preventive medicine and how social and environmental factors affect young people. During the clerkship, the department will model and reinforce the principles of acquiring lifelong learning skills.
