Training Roadmap

The first year is designed to emphasize a strong foundation in clinical pediatric hematology and oncology (both outpatient and inpatient). Fellows will develop their expertise in diagnosis and treatment of disease, essential procedures, and palliative/end-of-life care of ill children. The second and third years of the fellowship are focused on research, with limited clinical duties.

Our fellows are offered a choice of two research tracks: Fellows on the Physician-Scientist track are given additional research time at the bench; those on the Clinician-Educator track have additional clinical activities in the second and third years to best meet their career objectives.

See the Clinical Education and Research & Scholarship pages for more information.
