The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin is a vibrant academic department engaged in education, research, clinical services, and advocacy for children.
Our faculty members are strongly committed to education at all levels (undergraduate, medical students, postgraduate trainees, continuing medical education, and allied health professionals). We are particularly proud of our medical student and resident educational programs. Our pediatric residents have an excellent track record of either becoming established in very desirable primary care practices or entering top quality subspecialty fellowships in academic medical centers.
Our Department is committed to outstanding clinical care. In collaboration with our colleagues from the surgical subspecialties and others (in the Departments of Radiology and Anesthesiology, for example), a full range of general and subspecialty pediatric inpatient and outpatient services are available to children. We strive to provide meticulous care with cutting-edge technology and attention to detail.
Our faculty are involved in a wide variety of clinical, translational and basic research programs. Opportunities are provided for students and residents to become involved in focused research projects during their elective time. Faculty collaborate with research groups throughout the University of Wisconsin campus, including the Comprehensive Cancer Center, the NIH-funded Clinical Research Center, Departments of Population Health, Genetics, Physiology, and many others.
The Department of Pediatrics is dedicated to continued excellence and growth as we carry out our missions of education, research, clinical care, advocacy, and community service.
